With 40 beers on tap and about 80 international selections, Spitzer's feels like the perfect community bar for 20- and 30-something beer enthusiasts.
In case you don't call yourself a beer aficionado but still wander into this bright, urban corner of the Lower East Side, Spitzer's has got you covered. The beer menu here has described the flavor profiles of each of their offerings, which range from the Allagash Tripel ("Belgian-style tripel, banana, coconut, pear, vanilla, spice") to the Unibroue Ephemere ("White ale, Granny Smith apples, cinnamon, ginger"), and nearly everything in between.

While the long list of impressively selected beers would excite any beer-loving date right from the start, the bar food served at the long, wooden communal tables seems to keep the foodies coming back. I've personally witnessed someone order the Truffle Mac and Cheese with parmigiano reggiano, white cheddar, fontina, truffle oil, panko, rosemary, and thyme, not once, but twice in one sitting, and still demolish the whole thing. Other options like the Kobe Sliders and Artisan Grilled Cheese Sandwich continue to attract a crowd of happy hour guests who appreciate bar food that is just a little better than expected.
